In-state Freshman Scholarships

Many of these awards are awarded by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid on rolling basis to Fall Semester applicants. All new first-time freshmen who apply for admission by January 15 will be considered for these scholarships. Awards will be based on each applicant's academic record, including sixth semester class rank and ACT or SAT scores as of December. Some of these scholarships require an additional application form.


  • National Merit Scholarship
    Full tuition plus $2,000, renewable for up to four years.
  • Regents Scholarship
    Full tuition for up to 135 credit hours or completion of an undergraduate degree, whichever comes first. A select group of Regents Scholars will also receive a Top Scholar stipend of $1,500 for up to four years.
  • J.D. Edwards Honors Program Scholarship
    May include the following: room (in the Kauffman Center) and board, and books (through the Honors Program Textbook Scholarship). This requires an additional application after applying for admission.
  • David Distinguished Scholarship
    $1,000 per year, renewable up to four years.
  • Honors Program Scholarship
    500 Textbook Scholarships in the amount of $250 per semester, fall and spring semesters only, for up to 135 credit hours, four years, or the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. This scholarship requires the completion of an additional application.
  • Canfield Scholarship
    $1,000 freshman year only.
  • Chancellor's Leadership Class Scholarship
    $1,000 freshman year only. Awards will be made in late February. This scholarship requires the Résumé form.
  • Pepsi Service Scholarship
    $1,000 freshman year only. Awards will be made in late February. This scholarship requires the Résumé form.

In-state Diversity Enhancement Freshmen Scholarships

  • National Achievement Scholarship
    Full tuition plus $2,000, renewable for up to four years. Click here for more information

    Program Full tuition plus $2,000, renewable for up to four years. Click here for more information
  • Health Sciences Scholarship
    Equal to or greater than full tuition of freshman year. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1.
  • Davis-Chambers Scholarship
    From $2,000 up to the full direct cost of attendance, renewable up to four years. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1.
  • Gupta Scholarship
    Equivalent of a standard residence hall contract, renewable for up to four years. Available to engineering or physical science majors.
  • Native American Heritage Scholarship
    $2,000 up to the full direct cost of attendance, renewable for up to four years. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1.
  • Nebraska Achievement Scholarship
    From $1,000 up to full tuition waiver, renewable for up to four years.
  • Larson Scholarship
    Amount varies. Renewable for up to four years.
  • Summer Institute for Promising Scholars
    Award $1000 for first year of enrollment, $500 per semester, upon meeting criteria. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1.
