Out-of-state Freshman Scholarships
Most of these awards are awarded by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid on a rolling basis to Fall Semester applicants. All new first-time freshmen who apply for admission by January 15 will be considered for these scholarships. Awards will be based on each applicant's academic record, including sixth semester class rank and ACT or SAT scores as of April. Some of these scholarships require an additional application form.
- National Merit Scholarship
Full tuition plus $2,000, renewable for up to four years. - J.D. Edwards Honors Program Scholarship
May include the following: room and board, and books (through the Honors Program Textbook Scholarship). - George Beadle Scholarship
$10,020 per year up to 135 credit hours or completion of degree, whichever comes first (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes). Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) Scholarships are awarded to academically qualified students from Minnesota, Michigan, Missouri, Kansas, North Dakota, or Wisconsin who exhibit superior academic performance. A MSEP student pays 150 percent of the institution's regular resident tuition plus any required fees. When meeting the annual renewal criteria, the scholarship is applicable for up to 135 credit hours or the completion of a bachelor's degree, whichever occurs first. This scholarship is valued at $7,478 for the 2006-2007 academic year (based on 30 credit hours per year, adjusts with credit hours taken and future tuition changes). $1,000 per year, renewable up to four years. - Honors Program Scholarship
500 Textbook Scholarships in the amount of $250 per semester, fall and spring semesters only, for up to 135 credit hours, four years, or the completion of a bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first. This scholarship requires the completion of an additional application. - Chancellor's Leadership Class Scholarship
$1,000 freshman year only. Awards will be made in late February.

Equal to or greater than full tuition of freshman year. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1. - Gupta Scholarship
Equivalent of a standard residence hall contract, renewable for up to four years. Available to engineering or physical science majors. - Native American Heritage Scholarship
$2,000 up to the full direct cost of attendance, renewable for up to four years. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1. - Larson Scholarship
Amount varies. Renewable for up to four years. - Summer Institute for Promising Scholars Award
Tuition, fees, books, room/board, and part-time employment during the summer term prior to the first fall semester of enrollment; $1,000 for first year of enrollment. This scholarship requires an additional application due February 1.
