Admission Requirements (before 1997)

If you graduated from high school prior to January 1997, the chart below describes Admissions Requirements that apply to you. You must have successfully completed high school courses in the areas listed to be admitted to one of NEBRASKA's nine undergraduate colleges. Students who only meet General Admission requirements will be admitted to and advised in the Division of General Studies.

General Admissions Requirements


English/Language Arts

4 units lang arts (3 units English; includes 1 unit English Comp, 1 unit from English, speech, journalism, lit, or foreign lang)

Mathematics

2 units math (includes 1 unit algebra, 1 unit geometry, adv. algebra, trig, calc, or algebra-based computer science

Natural Sciences

2 units of sciences (biology, physics, chemistry, earth, or life sciences)

Social Sciences

2 units social sciences (American government, American history, world history, anthropology, psychology, or sociology

Class Rank or ACT/SAT

Must have taken these courses OR graduate in the upper half of your class OR have a 20 ACT or SAT (Critical Reading and Math only) of 950)

Transfer Requirements

You also must have a cumulative GPA of C (2.0 on a 4.0 scale) or higher and a 2.0 for the most recent term attended

Architecture


English/Language Arts

4 units lang. arts (2 units English, 1 unit English comp, and 1 unit from speech, journalism, lit, or foreign lang.)

Mathematics

PreArch: 2 units algebra, 1 unit geometry, and .5 unit trig or precalc. Pre-Interior Design: 2 units algebra and 1 unit from geometry, trig, or precalc

Natural Sciences

2 units of natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology, botany, geology, or physiology)

Social Sciences

2 units of social sciences (American governmt, American history, world history, psychology, sociology, or anthropology)

Other Requirements

Pre-Arch Only: Freshmen must submit complete application materials by Mar. 15. Students will be admitted only once a year, with classes beginning fall semester

Class Rank or ACT/SAT

You also must graduate in the upper quarter of your high school class or have an 22 ACT (comp) 970 SAT (Critical Reading and Math only)

Transfer Requirements

You also must have a cumulative GPA of 2.6 and be in good standing. PreArch only: You must submit materials by Feb. 15 of each year

You also must have an 24 ACT (comp) or 1110 SAT (comb)

Transfer Requirements

You also must meet GPA requirements: 2.5 for NE residents; 2.5 for non-residents from ABET or CEAB accredited engineering schools; or 3.0 for nonresidents from other colleges and universities


Fine & Performing Arts

Other Requirements

8 units from English, foreign lang., math, natural sciences or social sciences. Music major or minor only: Audition required. Contact the School of Music to arrange audition
