Student Organizations

Afrikan Peoples Union (APU)

APU endeavors to unite members in a bond of Afrikan brotherhood and sisterhood in order to promote spiritual, social, intellectual, and moral welfare. APU students host the Martin Luther King, Jr. Banquet, Black and Brown Bowling Tournament, Black Love Week, and a host of other social events.

Asian Student Alliance

ASA's purpose is to promote unity among diverse Asian ethnic cultures. ASA intends to provide Asian students with a unified voice, along with a safe and supportive environment that will facilitate students' academic, personal, and social development.

Hillel at Nebraska, Jewish Student Association

Hillel is committed to a pluralistic vision of Judaism that embraces all movements and simply exists to maximize the number of Jews doing Jewish things with other Jews.

Mexican American Student Association

The purpose of MASA is to gather and disseminate information in areas concerning Latino students, to coordinate, assist, and cooperate with the efforts of University departments, other student groups, and community, as well as serving the academic and non-academic needs of students.

Spectrum

Nebraska's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Student Association. Primarily for undergraduate students, this group works for a safe and supportive campus environment for GLBT students. The group's goals include programming, education, and providing members with a safe social space. Meetings are in the format of a casual discussion forum for GLBT students to share their thoughts and ideas. The meetings are also intended to provide students with a fun yet supportive social environment where they may meet other GLBT students with similar interests. The meetings are open to all students - come and see what it's all about!

University of Nebraska Inter-Tribal Exchange (UNITE)

UNITE will help to promote the academic progress, economic security, and the professional development of Native American students at UNL. This group also hopes to aid in their personal growth and social well-being, and will facilitate participation in community life.

Vietnamese Student Association

VSA hopes to create a spirit of friendship among Vietnamese and American students, residents, and other student organizations.
