  • ENGL 2130 Survey of English Literature I
  • ENGL 2160 Survey of English Literature II
  • ENGL 2230 World Literature Survey I
  • ENGL 2260 World Literature Survey II

Foreign Language: 2 units
In one language


  • Students need to successfully complete the FREN 1150 level, or the GERM 1250 level, or the SPAN 1350 level. Some students may need to complete the first level in any of these languages to prepare for the second level; the second level, however, is the level which will fulfill the UNL admission deficiency.

Mathematics: 4 units

A fourth year that builds on algebra

  • Geometry: Not available. [see UNL's Division of Continuing Studies Independent Study program]
  • Algebra II: MATH 0210 Intermediate Algebra
  • Fourth Year Math (course that builds upon Algebra II): MATH 1150-College Algebra

Natural Sciences: 3 units
At least 2 from biology, chemistry, physics & earth sciences.
At least one lab

If you are deficient in a lab, you MUST take a science course that has a lab.

  • CHEM 1500 Intro Chemistry (has a lab)
  • CHEM 1600 General Chemistry I (has a lab)
  • GEOG 1120 Physical Geography (does not have a lab)
  • PHYS 1070 Astronomy (has a lab)
  • PHYS 1300 Physics I (has a lab)
  • PHYS 1400 Physical Geology (has a lab)

Social Sciences: 3 units
One or 2 units history AND 1 or 2 units American government, geography or one other social science
