Student Exchange Program
As part of the University's commitment to diversity and diversity education, you have the unique opportunity to take classes at a Historically Black College/University or Hispanic Serving Institution while pursuing your degree from Nebraska.
Background
Over the last two decades, U.S. institutions of higher education have confronted a number of new and continuing challenges. Institutions struggle to meet the challenges of diversifying both their student bodies and their faculty at the same time that federal and state dollars committed to the support of higher education are declining. Therefore, collaborative partnerships between minority serving colleges and universities and research intensive universities have particular promise. These partnerships have the potential for:
- Boosting minority enrollment in graduate research programs
- Improving the quality of minority undergraduate science education
- Creating new opportunities for collaborative and independent research
- Creating opportunities for immersing students in a culture other than their own home institution's culture
Institutions secure and share the resources necessary to prepare students from all racial and ethnic backgrounds for productive and rewarding careers and lives.
